Description:
This one semester course is a multimedia introduction to the study of the economic system. Principal elements of the course are the student company and the "Economics and Management Simulation Exercise" (a computer simulation game). A consultant from a local business introduces real world experience into the class to balance the more theoretical work. Use of the computer and the opportunity to run a student company allow for hands-on learning.

Description:
Software Applications I is a course designed to equip the students with basic computer operations, keyboarding, software applications, and internet research skills which they can put to use at school, work, and home. The students will progressively develop basic keyboarding proficiencies throughout the semester. They will be taught how to conduct research efficiently and effectively using the internet. The students will be taught how to use Microsoft Word to create, edit, integrate graphics, spell check, and format documents. They will be taught the basics of Excel spreadsheet, formulas and charting. The mastery these combination of skills will aid the students in successfully completing term paper requirements.

Description:
Software Applications II is a course designed to build on the skills mastered in Software Applications I. The students will be taught advanced features in MS Word and PowerPoint. They will be taught advanced features of Excel Spreadsheets, formulas, and charts. The students will be taught how to efficiently and effectively integrate these applications. The students will be taught internet research skills and how to properly cite electronic sources using MLA formatting. The mastery these combination of skills will aid students in successfully completing upper class term paper and Science Fair requirements.
